Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, ‘Animal’ goes OTT. Although the film received a mixed response in the theatres, the film created waves at the box office. The film collected around 900 crores. The film also received a lot of criticism from critics for glorifying misogyny and violence. The way the director handled issues like feminism and toxicity also caused disagreement among many.
“You have to create an image of a hero with awareness of what is right and how it should be. Today’s writers have to think about that because confusion has increased among them. This happens because society is in a state of confusion. Society does not decide what is right or wrong, but the film reflects that. In the past, people thought that those who didn’t have much were good, and those with a lot were not so good. But today is ours. There is only one thought in the head of how to get rich. So we can’t make rich people bad because we all want to be rich. A man asking a woman to lick her shoes, or a man saying it’s okay to hit a woman, it’s dangerous for such a film to become a super hit,” said Javed Akhtar criticizing Animal.
Anyway, the film has been a huge success at the box office and is now gearing up for an OTT release. Netflix owns the digital rights to Animal. According to reports, the film will start streaming on Netflix before January 26. But Netflix has not officially announced the release date yet.
In addition to featuring Ranbir and Rashmika in lead roles, the cast of “Animal” includes Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandana, Tripti Dimri, Suresh Oberoi, Shakti Kapoor, and Prem Chopra. The movie narrates the tale of Ranvijay, Balbir’s son, who travels to the United States and comes back following an assassination attempt on his father, delving into the subsequent events that unfold.
The movie “Animal” is brought to life through the collaborative efforts of T-Series by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, Cine1 Studios, and Pranay Reddy Vanga’s Bhadrakali Pictures. The film’s songs are already a big hit.
